COVID-19/Coronavirus Update

General Overview

All throughout DFW, the courts have begun to postpone court settings, hearing dates, and trial settings due to the spread of COVID-19/Coronavirus. In particular, Dallas County, Collin County, Tarrant County, Denton County, Ellis County, and Rockwall County have all announced policies and procedures during this time to help contain the spread of COVID-19/Coronavirus. Our office has been in constant contact with the courts in the counties where we have pending cases and we have been constantly in touch with the court staff to make sure our client's cases have been reset and are in compliance with the court policies.

What does COVID-19/Coronavirus mean for me and my case?

For most people, the COVID-19/Coronavirus merely means that their case will be delayed for a while. If you had an upcoming court setting or were recently arrested, your case will likely be postponed to a later date. Most cases in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area have been postponed until May 2020, however, we are continuing to stay in contact with the courts regarding each of our cases in the event that any changes may occur. We have likely already reached out to inform you of your new court date, but we will continue to keep in contact with you as things change. In the mean time, we are still available to speak with our clients via phone, text message, and email to get updates on your case.

For people who have recently been arrested, we advise that they contact an attorney as soon possible so the attorney can prepare their case and contact the courts to ensure that a warrant is not issued. It is also crucial during this time to have a lawyer that can help you with jail releases to try to minimize your exposure to COVID-19/Coronavirus. We work with our clients to help them get out jail fast and can help you too. Please contact our office today so that we can help you during this time and ensure that your case is ready and process moving forward (214) 306-9696
